FAQ
Airport / Taxis
From the airport, it is perfectly safe to hail a taxi from the arrivals area. All the taxis are metered so you won't be taken advantage of. The cost to get to the apartment is normally around 40,000 COP or about $18 US. To download directions and a map, click here.
Maid Service
We have a maid that comes once a week to service the apartment. When she comes will depend on your arrival times, but you can choose to have her come
more frequently, or not at all if you wish. Her services are included in the cost, however if you would like extra days, that will cost $20US extra per day.
Taxes, Other expenses
There are no taxes or other hidden costs involved with the cost of renting the apartments.
Check-In / Check-Out
Check-in time is anytime after 4pm and check-out time is 12:00pm. This allows us enough time to properly clean the apartment before the next arrival. If you are arriving in Medellin before 4pm, you are welcome to leave your luggage with the guards until 4pm. Please let us know as soon as possible your arrival time so we can make arrangements for you.
Payment Options
The initial 20% deposit can be made via PayPal to apartment.medellin@gmail.com. The balance of payment is due on arrival and can be made via PayPal, in US Dollars or in Colombian pesos. For more information on PayPal, please visit their site here: www.paypal.com
Cell Phones
For Apartments 419, 1504 and 1906 a cell phone is free to use for the duration of your stay. You will need to purchase a phone card in order to make calls. You can buy phone cards at almost any street corner and in just about any shop. They range from $10.000COP to $100.000COP in value. $20.000 ($4.50US) is usually sufficient for a one week stay. There is one cell phone per apartment.

On Arrival
On arrival at the entrance there will be an envelope waiting for you with a welcome letter and the keys inside. If you have any problems you can call Lorena on 314 748 9557 or Andrew on 314 612 0702.
Safes and Safety
Apartment 1906 and 1504 come complete with an electronic safe for guarding your valuables. Please ensure you lock all valuables in the safe provided as we cannot be responsible for lost items. Having said that, there is no reason to concern yourself with the reliability or honesty of our cleaning staff, nor should you worry about safety within the apartment with our 24 hour security staff.
Car Parking and Car Hire
Each apartment is equipped with a parking space, so if you are planning to hire a car during your visit or if you wish to receive visitors you will have somewhere secure and free to park. All apartment complexs also have large visitors parking areas. If you would like to hire a car during your visit, we can recommend several quality car hire companies in Medellin.
Security Deposit
At least two weeks prior to arrival we need to receive a fully refundable Security Deposit to re-confirm your reservation and also to cover any costs for loss or damages during your stay. Once the apartment has been inspected you will receive the full amount back provided nothing is lost or damaged.
Guests
Once you have been shown to your apartment and handed the keys, the apartment is literally your home away from home. You may have guests over as many times as you like, whenever you like, however we will need to be notified if an additional bed will be required for overnight guests as bed linen is only provided for paying guests and surplus bedrooms will be locked when not in use. Please keep in mind when entertaining to keep the noise to appropriate levels especially during the week out of respect for your neighbors.
Our Beds
All of the beds in the apartment are standard queen or double size and have semi-firm orthopedic mattresses with 100% 180 thread cotton sheets and your choice of firm or soft pillows. Sheets and pillowcases are changed every week but can be changed more regularly if you wish.

Medical Treatment
Colombia is world renowned for having some of the best quality and most affordable plastic surgery and cosmetic dentistry in the world. It also offers world class facilities for all types of elective surgery. If you are interested in any of these procedures I can offer you the best advice from my own personal experience. I have several surgeons, dentists, doctors and home nurses who I can recommend personally, so feel free to make inquires. You could save literally thousands of dollars by having what are essentially routine procedures here in Medellin.
Smoking
Our policy is no smoking anywhere in either apartment, however if you have to smoke, please do so only outside on the balconies. Extra cleaning expenses will be deducted in the apartment is left with linen or furniture smelling of cigarettes.
Noise
From Sunday to Thursday, after 11PM, it’s important that you maintain a respectable level of noise from Music, Television, and the volume of noise created by talking, laughing and/or yelling. During the weekends, please maintain a respectful volume of noise after 12PM. By closing the balcony doors you can lower the level of noise going outside and to other apartments significantly. We reserve the right to deduct money from the Security Deposit if we receive complaints about the noise.
